I have a doctorate in a science field. I’m so glad she talked about the difference between correlation vs causation. The part I find difficult is trying to help people see it’s a very complex problem and not easily solved by “banning one thing”. Most people , of course, want a simple answer. I’ve had dietitians shame me for eating organic avocados because of the fat content ; then give me samples of artificial food additives for fat or sweet. Was only looking at BMI rather than actual bloodwork and other health indicators.
Some of the problem is in the training of our medical professionals. I have more difficulty trying to get a medical professional to eat healthier than any other professional group. I finally found a personal physician who incorporates both healthy lifestyle and prescription medicine. Unfortunately, most of the time , it’s one or the other extreme.
